Updated Virtual Schedule

Arwa Ouali

As the school year has progressed, and we have lived through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kearny district is looking to a hybrid learning schedule. Originally the plan was for teachers to return to work in-person on March 1st. However, during a meeting on Monday, February 22, the board pushed the teacher’s return date to March 8th.

For students, schools will reopen in three phases. Phase I begins on Thursday, March 11th for Special Education Self Contained Classes. Phase II begins on the week of March 15th, when students who choose to return to in-person classes will do so for one day to get acclimated to the protocols. Phase III begins on the week of March 22nd. Here, students officially start the hybrid schedule with two days of in-person instruction based on the cohort the student is in. This same schedule will continue for the week of March 29th.

Students and all staff will be required to follow CDC guidelines, which means they will have to social distance and wear face coverings.

*However, all these dates are tentative and subject to change at any time.
