Week Break

Week+Break

Next week marks the start of our week-long break. At the time it is difficult to go out with friends or family due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many public places and fun attractions are closed. It is encouraged to stay home at these times. Movies and TV shows are a great way to stay entertained in the comfort of your own home. In recent years, the most popular paid streaming services have been Netflix and Disney+. They have blown up in popularity, and there is a good chance you have one or both of these services. It is also possible you have even more services than just these two. I will be listing some great shows and movies that I recommend you watch at home during our quarantined break.

Locke & Key (Netflix)

In this show that came out earlier this year, three children and their mother move into their father’s home after he was mysteriously killed. In the home, they find peculiar, old keys that can allow them to do some mind-boggling things. They must keep the keys protected from any evil forces.

A Nightmare Before Christmas (Disney+)

If you are in a holiday mood, you can’t go wrong with this timeless 1993 movie. This stop-motion movie follows Jack Skellington, the “Pumpkin King” of Halloweentown. When he finds Christmastown by accident, he announces to the people of Halloweentown that they are going to take over Christmas.

Unsolved Mysteries (Netflix)

Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix is a reboot of the 1987 show under the same name. Netflix just renewed this show for a second season on October 19. This series is made by the creators of the original show and the producers of Stranger Things. They use reenactments to tell the story of unsolved crimes, disappearances, and paranormal events.

Clouds (Disney+)

Clouds is a new movie based on a true story about a teenage boy named Zach Sobiech who has cancer and only has a few months left to live. In the time he has left, he follows his passion and creates an album not knowing it would blow up in popularity as much as it did. Music gives Zach a unique, happy way to say goodbye

The Umbrella Academy (Netflix)

In this show, one day in 1989, 43 children were unexplainably born to women that were not pregnant. When it is discovered that they have supernatural powers, One of the richest people and world-renowned scientist, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, buys 7 of the children to help them save other lives. When the kids grow up, they all go their separate ways until they hear the news that their father died.

This break will be a great time to watch any show or movie, not just what I recommend. However, I hope you take my recommendations into consideration since I believe they were very quality and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
