This year’s awaited Battle of the Classes has students on the edge of their seats—prepared to watch and win this year’s series of intense, team-based challenges! The four grade-specific teams contest against each other in a multi-series battle to win! Will the freshmen make it this year? Or maybe the seniors—who lost last year? From the oreo-eating race (yes, it is as delicious and disgusting as it sounds) to the box stacking competition, these events beg calculated effort and eagerness from each team. As always, the Dance Finale is the most anticipated, exciting part of the night. Below, our wonderful coaches have answered a few questions for our lovely audience!
Students should be ready, because the former sophomores, now juniors, are coming in with one win already under their belt! The junior coach stated that the team is not at all worried, with their first win firing them up more. They refuse to share their strategies at this time, but we are sure that no matter the outcome, they’ll give us an amazing show! However, this doesn’t mean our other classes aren’t going to put up a fight.
The freshman Battle of the Classes advisors, Mrs. Kiem and Mrs. Viso, are excited to lead this year’s freshman together. This is Mrs. Viso’s first year, while Mrs. Kiem has been coaching since 2017. The two different perspectives guiding these students guarantee interesting performances. The freshmen are as prepared as they can be, despite being the underdogs.
Mrs. Cross and Mrs. Engles are our sophomore advisors, and they have taken a slightly different approach when it comes to strategy. Their team has been given a lot of trust, divulging that it will be the students who decide what game they think they will perform best in. Mrs. Engles looks forward to her class performing well, and is very excited for this year’s games.
The senior class is joining this game with much confidence and school spirit! Their advisor, Mrs. Velez, is prepared to play to each students’ advantages, thanks to the years of experience under their belts. The seniors have a well rounded team and are ready to bring as much school spirit as possible! Mrs. Velez has been with this class since freshman year; she is incredibly proud of her team and assured us they will give it their all.
Overall, our coaches and students are enthusiastic about the Battle of the Classes. Every class is pumped up, especially our players who have been preparing for months now! Battle of the Classes is on the 27th of March, we can’t wait to see you there!
