On April 20th, Stephanie Kvamme, program organizer, announced the 2021 winners of the National LEED Dream House competition. CAD Academy sponsors the contest, with the mission of creating accessibility in STEM education. Each year Kearny High school students enrolled in Mrs. LaRossa’s architecture class submit their project designs. This year, out of all nationwide entries Kearny High School Senior Jack Logue placed third for his architectural design titled “Winds peak”.

Jack shares that “What started out as a nerve-wracking decision… turned out to be the best learning experience I could ever have. The process of creating a LEED Dreamhouse… taught me the fundamentals of how to create a house… based on maximizing recycled materials to create some truly amazing structures.”
